SNMP Line MonitoringPSINet provides free SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) usage statistics for frame-relay customers. SNMP was developed by PSINet in the late 1980s in response to the challenge of managing a growing Internet. Since that time SNMP has grown to be the network standard for monitoring and managing large and small networks.Before we can use SNMP to monitor your connection, your router must be configured to allow SNMP queries. This typically involves turning on the SNMP daemon and setting a community name. You will also need to ensure that there are no filters on the serial port that would prevent SNMP access from our polling machines:
